About Sustainable Seafood Ireland
Sustainable Seafood Ireland Ltd was first set up in 2013 by owner Niall Sabongi. Niall is a chef / restaurant owner and SSI was first set up to supply his growing restaurant business. The reason it was set up was that as a predominantly seafood Chef, Niall wanted better a better understanding of where his seafood came from and if it was truly sustainable. Along with this Niall wanted quality, variety of species, access to fish and shellfish that often only gets exported.

A confusing shopping experience, mistake in the order and inexistant customer service. Ordered with pick-up from their offices. Ordered on a Tuesday, selected Wednesday pick-up between 9-11 (only option available). This was a big order of 293€. Arrived the next day, at around 9:30-10am, order was not ready. They said the pickups are from 12pm, so not the same at all as on the website. Had to wait outside for around 15min, no problem. They told me they had run out of sardines, and gave me more
Bought a food box dinner. Insanely small portions and very misleading. Very very overpriced for what you get compared to other places. Portion really for one person not 2-3 as as advertised. Make sure you order multiples or I promise you, you will be hungry. Really bad value. **** updated: was followed up with good customer service ***
Our Christmas hamper, which we were promised would arrive before Crimbo, arrived on the 28th. All the amazing fish we had ordered was gone off at that stage. A complete waste.
