Slieve Bloom Organics was launched in 2023 by Alison Chambers, a horticulturist who had previously worked at the location on Lough Boora Farm. She has lived for many years in or near the Slieve Bloom Mountains of Laois/Offaly, hence the name. We have been growing vegetables organically in Ballinasloe Co. Galway since 2002. We began with a box scheme, followed by markets and then into wholesale to food service, then to shops selling prepack vegetables and finally selling bulk pallets to consolidators and other food businesses. We are currently selling business to business only supplying shops, supermarkets restaurants and market stall and veg box schemes.

Our honesty box is mainly to sell our duck eggs, but we also have hen eggs and occasionally I make jam and will pop it in. There will also be home grown organic vegetables available occasionally throughout the summer. *PLEASE NOTE that when the ducks stop laying we remove the hut and put it back up when they start laying again - usually around April *
