Ballymaloe Foods was founded in 1990 by Yasmin Hyde. Her mother, Myrtle Allen was Ireland's first female Michelin Star chef. She opened a gastro restaurant at Ballymaloe House in the 1960s and it was here that she developed the now iconic Original Relish recipe, using tomatoes grown on the grounds and a blend of spices and other natural ingredients.<br><br>Fast forward 30 years and Ballymaloe Foods is now the number 1 relish brand in Ireland. Slieve Bloom Organics was launched in 2023 by Alison Chambers, a horticulturist who had previously worked at the location on Lough Boora Farm.
