Galtee Valley

This is one of my favourite places, it’s always changing and you never know what to expect when you venture out on a hike.

A great hike for all levels of fitness. 917 m in height. Largest inland mountain. Views from the top are spectacular. Takes between 3 and 4 hours to complete. Take in the great views on the way up and down.

Excellent views of County Tipperary, Limerick and Cork. A 2.5 hour walk to the summit of Galytmore, well laid out trail but unmarked about half way up. A lot of mud and rocks, boots are essential. Even in summer, a woolly hat may be needed at summit. Hike was a good pace and easy until summit climb, very rocky , but the views are amazing. A great adventure.
